Norwich Medico-Chirurgical Society

Meetings

Speakers are invited from a wide range of backgrounds, both medical and non-medical. Other academic or industrial specialists are often asked to share their views and experience.

Talks start at 6.30pm in the Gooch Lecture Theatre and usually end by 7.30pm.

No booking is necessary.

Meet Colleagues

Modern shift work, job plans and on line meetings have meant we rarely get to chat informally to our colleagues from across the hospital or from General Practice.

Med Chi is one of the few convenient opportunities to get together at the end of the working day.

Refreshments

Meetings start at 6pm. So come straight from clinic, the ward, handover or a theatre list. Refreshments are waiting for you. Just enough to keep you going until dinner.

Medical Students

We welcome medical students to join us as Med Chi is a great place to get to know qualified doctors who can advise on career opportunities, placements and projects. All talks are broadly relevant to anyone whether qualified or not.

Qualified Doctors

Both General Practitioners and Hospital Doctors are welcome to meetings. In fact originally that was one of the prime reasons for the society’s existence – to encourage interaction between ‘city and county’. We realise the pressures of work  / life balance are different now but we hope Med Chi can offer something for everyone, even if you’ve finally hung up your scalpel or stethoscope and retired.

Non-Medical Staff

Our modern Med Chi Society is open to everyone  – members and non-members. Just turn up to meetings if they are of interest to you. No need to book or obtain tickets. If non-medical members want to join for access to member only parts of the website then please contact us.
